Sunset Ridge RV Resort, Corpus Christi, Texas

A Welcome Retreat by the Gulf
We just wrapped up a stay at Sunset Ridge RV Resort in Corpus Christi, and we were seriously impressed. From the minute we pulled in, we could tell this wasn’t your average RV park. Everything was clean, modern, and well thought out—from the wide, paved sites to the landscaped grounds. The extra-long sites have plenty of space for the RV, truck, and boat (if we had one), with cute power pedestals with lantern tops, providing full hookups.
But the pool is what really won us over. It’s a big, saltwater pool that’s heated, so we ended up in there almost every day. Some mornings we’d just relax by the water, and most evenings we floated around until the sun dipped behind the trees. There’s also a large hot tub next to it, which was perfect after a long day of exploring. Floating under the stars in a quiet, well-lit pool? That’s the kind of thing we didn’t know we needed.

We also loved that there were ways to stay active. There’s a pickleball court and a half-court basketball area, so we ended up playing just enough to remind ourselves we’re not in our 20s anymore. The fitness center was a nice bonus too—small but solid. We used the gym almost every day, then took a dip in the pool afterwards – such a great way to relax after a good workout! There’s even a sauna tucked in the fitness area for a little post-workout chill time. I would have loved to use it, but just ran out of time.

Throughout the year, they schedule different events and activities. While we were there over Memorial Day, they had a little BBQ and an afternoon Bingo game. One of my favorite amenities, the laundry room, was spotless, easy to use, and had an app that told us when our laundry was done. Super helpful.

One evening we wandered down to the fishing pond to watch the sunset while George checked out the different fish he was anticipating catching. It was peaceful, with just enough breeze to keep things cool. This place really had a way of slowing us down—in a good way. Plus, being just a short drive from the beach and everything in Corpus Christi made it a great base for exploring. We’re already talking about coming back. If you’re looking for a clean, friendly, well-run resort with plenty to do (or not do), Sunset Ridge RV Resort should be on your list.
