Rio Bonito RV Park and Cabin, Liberty Hill, Texas

Discover the Charm of Rio Bonito, just north of Austin

Tucked back off the highway, and conveniently close to the vibrant city of Austin, Texas (just 40 minutes from downtown), lies a tranquil haven perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of city life: Rio Bonito RV and Cabin. We fully enjoyed our stay at this charming park, offering a refreshing blend of natural beauty, excellent amenities, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Rio Bonito is divided into two sections, Rio Bonito I and Rio Bonito II, each offering its own unique charm and similar amenities. Rio Bonito I has a well-established feel with mature trees providing plenty of shade and a more park-like feel. This section backs up to the San Gabriel River with outdoor games and trails. Here, you’ll find a community center that serves as a hub for activities and gatherings, a small pool, and facilities like laundry rooms and clean restrooms and shower areas. Rio Bonito II, on the other hand, is a newer development, featuring large RV sites with concrete pads and full hookups, beautiful landscaping, a larger pool, and a more open feel. Regardless of which section you choose, the entire park is very well-maintained, beautifully landscaped, and each site is clean and orderly.

One aspect that truly stood out during our visit was the impeccable cleanliness of the entire park. From the meticulously maintained grounds to the spotless restrooms and common areas, it was evident that the management takes great pride in providing a comfortable and clean environment for its guests. Even those staying here, part-time or full-time, take care of their individual sites. This attention to detail truly enhances the overall experience, allowing you to fully relax and enjoy your surroundings.

Beyond the beautiful setting and well-kept facilities, the warmth and friendliness of the Rio Bonito community were truly remarkable. We encountered numerous friendly faces, from the helpful staff who were always ready with a smile and assistance, to the welcoming fellow campers who created a genuine sense of community. We were even greeted by one of the resident pups, Earl, who showed us how he fully enjoys the dog park! This welcoming atmosphere made our stay feel more like visiting friends than simply staying at an RV park. It’s the kind of place where you feel instantly at ease and part of something special.

Rio Bonito’s direct access to the San Gabriel River is a significant highlight. Although the river is quite low, it still provides a beautiful natural backdrop to the park. We enjoyed taking leisurely walks along its banks, admiring the scenery and just the natural peacefulness. Rio Bonito offers a wonderful combination of a relaxing natural setting and the accessibility of being just a short drive from the excitement of Austin.
And for those looking to explore beyond the peaceful confines of Rio Bonito, its proximity to Austin is a major draw. A short drive will take you to the heart of Texas’s capital, where you can immerse yourself in live music, explore eclectic shops and restaurants, and discover the city’s vibrant culture.

Our stay at Rio Bonito RV and Cabin was a refreshing escape, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a blend of natural beauty, excellent amenities, and Texan hospitality, all within easy reach of Austin’s excitement.
